Quirky Memes For Quirky Kids

Being quirky isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. But sometime over the past decade, the quality has become a desired one – and we’re not just talking about individuals. Brands have started going the same route, trying to differentiate themselves from the norm to create brand recognition. Novelty, it seems, is attractive to consumers. Being a non-conformist, and appreciating non-conformist brands and products, make people feel as though they stand out in a crowd – a crowd that happens to fall all over each and every social media trend.

When I was younger, being quirky meant that you’d struggle to find people you relate to. In fact, it led to a lot more internet usage: joining «quirky» meme groups on Facebook, finding myself on forums dedicated to niche music. Being «different» wasn’t the norm online, but there was space for us. The times of genuine quirkiness may have given way to things and people that are «so random» (read: not random at all), but fortunately, there are still quirky memes floating around the Internet. Our proof? Well, you’ll find some of ‘em right here.
