Food delivery is becoming more and more popular as apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub make it so convenient for the customer. With more demand comes a need for more drivers. Being a food delivery driver can be a great side gig if you have a car and some time to spare. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with challenges. You have the customers who like to track your every turn as you are on your way to their house and then stand at the door awkwardly waiting for you to walk up and hand the food to them. Then you have the restaurants that forget certain food items and angry customers who blame you for their inconvenience. And then you have the slow days. The days when you expect to hop online and have tons of orders popping up for you to claim, only to find that no one in the nearest 20 miles wants anything delivered. Every day is different. But the best kind of customers are the ones that have their delivery setting set to «leave at my door.» And then they avoid contacting you until after they get that DM with a picture of their food safely on their front porch. Only then do they slip out in their pajamas and grab their bags to bring inside. If only every customer could be that way, but alas, we still keep delivering.
