Teachers Complain About All the Basic Knowledge That Pupils No Longer Have

Childhood is a vital time of life for many reasons, and perhaps the most important one is that it’s a time of learning things. We don’t just pop out the womb instinctively knowing every single thing that we’re supposed to do. Our first eighteen years are instrumental in setting us up for the practicalities of adulthood — but if teachers today are anything to go by, that isn’t always happening.

In a recent Reddit thread, teachers have shared some sobering insights about all the stuff that the kids they work with just don’t know about. Perhaps the worst thing about this is that some of them teach high school. While a lot of us have gaps in our knowledge, things don’t look so great if problems like not knowing the months of the year are widespread. By the sounds of things, it’s not just the school curriculum that is well overdue an overhaul.
