Ask many people about the things that they miss from childhood, and a lot of them will probably say something related to not having to work. Remember those months-long school summer holidays? Good luck getting the clearance for that amount of vacation time now. 

The trade-off for devoting much of our time to employment is that we are supposedly afforded a level of freedom brought in by a steady income. It’s such a privilege to pay rent, you know.

In return, we’re expected to put up with the high level of general BS that goes on in the workplace with a smile on our face, or at least without complaining too loudly. Just be thankful that work memes exist so we can let out all of our frustrations. One good thing about this whole rigamarole is that there is a lot of humor to be had from it if we look hard enough.
