I am no stranger to gawking at mommy Facebook groups. I’ve been doing it ever since I was a teenager and was constantly hearing rumblings about the drama on my town’s mommy Facebook group. There was more drama amongst the moms of the community than there was with the teenagers! When you join these groups, 90% of it was just people asking genuine questions or trying to sell Girl Scout cookies for their daughter, but every once in a while, you’d strike total gold. All of the best drama usually happens in the comments of controversial posts. One mom can post something seemingly innocuous, and over a hundred comments later, it has turned into a completely different argument. It was the Homer’s Odyssey of entertaining niche internet communities, and I regret the day I left my hometown’s mommy Facebook group for good.
