The Cringiest Parenting Posts of the Week (November 6, 2023)

I feel like one of the largest contributing factors to the proliferation of wacky Facebook-driven conspiracy theories is boredom. People, especially parents whose kids are at school, get bored if they’re hanging around the house all day, and their minds can start to wander in the most detrimental ways. If I had to clean a house all day and spend 5 hours a week in the school pickup line, I might start believing that our computers are releasing damaging chemicals into our skin, too! It’s certainly easy to fall into this world of conspiracies if there’s a huge online group of moms in your area that necessitates belief in wacky ideas in order to be in community with them. I can’t imagine it’s easy to find friends in your city’s mom group if you ardently believe in the necessity of doctors. If you don’t fit in in your Mom Facebook Group, these posts will certainly feel familiar.
