I spend way more time watching YouTube videos about Disney theme parks than watching Disney movies. That might make me a bad Disney fan, but it’s not my fault that Defunctland is one of the only good YouTubers left! His video about FastPass is one of the most compelling and informative YouTuber videos I’ve ever seen, and that means a lot coming from a Gen Z schlub like me. I had no idea that Disney invented the concept of the FastPass, nor did I know that until very recently, it was free of charge for all park guests. That model was definitely not copied by Six Flags, who sold their very own Flash Pass (very clever) for exorbitant amounts of money. It’s so easy to see Disney as the bad guy, but sometimes, they do things to improve their theme parks instead of just making money. Whether FastPasses made the parks better is debatable, but at least they tried. If you are waiting in a long, tortuous line and need something to pass the time, these Disney memes will make your wait worthwhile.
