Happy back-to-school season, parents! I’m sure all of you have mixed feelings about your tots returning to institutions of learning, spending less time with you, and asking you to sign a million pieces of paper. I know when I was a kid, I was always so stoked to return to school. Parents can only entertain their kids so much during the dog days of summer, and by the end, you just want that structure back. There are only so many summer camps and family vacations you can take your kid on before they start complaining about being bored. Oftentimes, it’s important to let your kids be bored so they aren’t burnt out before the new school year even starts. I cannot tell you how many Augusts I spent playing Yahtzee by myself on the computer and how much that set me up for success.
