‘The sad beige baby aesthetic is actively harmful’: Mommy blogger flips out at sibling for calling her baby sad and beige

Here at Memebase, we’re no stranger to the «sad beige baby» aesthetic. We’re unfortunately deeply aware of the lengths that design-conscious mothers will go to drain their children’s worlds of visual interest. Listen, I’m all for strong design choices. I made my roommate put the cat’s litter box in her room because I didn’t want it messing up the aesthetics of the living room. But I’m not here to provide visual stimuli to children. They need colors to be inspired by, not to mention help them develop properly.

That said, it’s all fun and good for commenters to roast sad beige babies and their sad beige mothers on the internet. That’s what it’s for, after all. But what happens when you bring that discourse into the personal sphere? Does it cross the line into bullying, or is it fair game? This recent Reddit thread explored this hilariously niche phenomenon in depth.
