Ever since my parents brought home my childhood pet when I was five years old, I’ve been completely enamored with cats. While the feline friend who stayed with us for nearly two decades was a decoy to stop me getting any ideas about wanting a puppy, she became an inseparable part of our family unit. She was a peoples’ cat, through and through.

Of course, not all cats are like this. That doesn’t make them any less lovable, though. Also, they could be literal small furry demons (which, let’s be honest, they are sometimes), and they’d still make for mighty good memes. 

Cats have starred in funny internet pictures for longer than some adults have been alive, and their memes have enjoyed such longevity for a reason. Cat lovers love being online, and the online sometimes loves them back. That’s what we have to conclude when we see the examples below, anyway.
