I don’t subscribe to that many one liner life philosophies, but one I can get behind is that it’s nice to be nice. The world can be a cold and unforgiving place, and it doesn’t take a lot of effort to be kind in a way that can genuinely brighten someone’s day.

One of the easiest ways to do this is a compliment. It’s minimum effort and maximum impact when it’s done the right way. Everybody deserves a little verbal affirmation now and then, but many of us don’t get it that often. It makes the moment even more special.

Despite the widespread compliment drought, there are plenty of memes out there that dwell on the simple act of giving praise. It just goes to show how much it can affect somebody. What we say can be more important than we think, and there are a bunch of mildly funny images out there to prove that.
