I have only heard the term «cornucopia» regularly used in two contexts: Thanksgiving dinner and The Hunger Games. I understand Thanksgiving cornucopias, but I have questions about the one used in the Young Adult series about teens fighting to death in a dystopian reality TV series. In the movie, it’s not shaped like a cornucopia at all. It’s just a large structure that is shaped like a half-finished dome. However, in the new illustrations of a new edition of The Hunger Games, the cornucopia is shaped like an honest-to-good Thanksgiving cornucopia. I don’t know if Suzzane Collins wanted an element of kitsch to the games that the movie couldn’t adbide but I’m here for it. The Hunger Games movies proved that cornucopia can be symbolic, so if you want a bountiful horn of memes that’s not actually shaped like said horn, come and get them at your friendly neighborhood Memebase.
