The life of a landlord is truly not all about sitting back and bringing in all those checks. It’s more like a never-ending, disorganized circus, and you’re the ringmaster having to make decisions on broken pipes, late-night lockouts, and the mysterious case of the trash that wouldn’t stop flowing. First, there is the delightful task of playing matchmaker between humans and habitations. And when you’ve found those brave souls who would sign on the dotted line, then the real fun begins.

Midnight calls become your new alarm clock. Not to mention those Sherlock Holmes-type mysteries, like who in the heck thought it was a good idea to flush god-knows-what down the toilet or who in the right mind decided it was high time that the walls in the living room be some kind of terrible shade of green. «It will be fixed by Tuesday,» you promise, but you mentally cross your fingers that the plumbing doesn’t decide to explode in the meantime. But don’t be afraid: for every sleepless night and every «adventure» in plumbing, there’s an undeniable joy of establishing connections, creating homes, and sometimes getting a thank-you note in place of a repair bill. At least that’s what we tell ourselves.
