The «fake deep» phase we all go through when we’re in middle school is a necessary phase of development. Just like teething or learning that you are separate from your mother, we must all think at some point, «Wow, have you ever thought about how we’re all just floating through space and everything is meaningless?» Yes, Dylan, I have. And I’ve come to terms with it. 

But it’s important to not fully lose that part of yourself. I mean we can’t fully give over into becoming sheep, but we do eventually tone down the cringe. Or we just leave the cringe to our journals and don’t post it for the world to see. But luckily there are still some folks out there who are fully committed to deep cringe so that we on the cynical side of the internet can point and laugh like we are wont to do. Wow, isn’t society cruel?
