Great British Bake Off is essential comfort TV. It has the perfect levels of wholesomeness, delicious-looking pastries, and enchanting British accents. In American reality television, there is often so much unnecessary drama, stress, and sob stories. In the Great British Bake Off, the only drama is whether or not Jan’s custard slices are going to set in time. And believe me, that’s all the drama you need. Plus, it’s got some great hosts, including goth prince Noel Fielding and everyone’s British grandma, Mary Berry (these two represent two opposite ends on the spectrum of British people). I could listen to their banter all day. And I’ll never hear the word «underproofed» again without hearing Paul Hollywood’s accent.
