Dogs are man’s best friend? Not quite, dogs are everybody’s best friend. If you’re not one of those weird cat people, you can probably admit you have an affinity for dogs; however slight it may be. Maybe you don’t want to have your own dog, but you’d at least pet a dog if it was in your general vicinity. In my own experience, I know it can be annoying when people ask to pet your pooch. It can break up the flow and energy of an otherwise peaceful walk. As someone with a higher-energy dog, it was a nuisance to manage. There’s a right time and right place for everything. So maybe don’t always ask to pet someone’s dog, but give it a shot if the vibes and situation seem proper.
