While some memes can be clever, it is usually not required to have any great amount of skill or intelligence to create them. God knows that most of the funny pictures on the internet were generated straight from a pre-prepared template on Imgflip or similar anyway.

This can lead to the average meme connoisseur wading through a lot of garbage to get to the gems, but this ease of use is a big part of why we get those gems in the first place. Sharing memes is just putting an added structure on an instinct that almost anybody who has communicated with anybody already has.

When you get to the more abstract content, it can sometimes be difficult to remember that memes are supposed to be easy. Still, it has its place as does the random assortment of mildly entertaining images below. They should been even easier to consume than they were to make.
