A Helping Of Memes To Banish The Blues

If anybody understands what it’s like to feel down on yourself, it’s those of us who spend too much time on the internet. There’s only so many annoying and/or horrible things that one person can be bombarded with on social media before they get jaded and unhappy. At the same time, though, the solution often isn’t as simple as going outside and touching grass. The problems that make us terminally online in the first place don’t go away by magic whenever we log off. It’s not like things here are all bad, either — they can offer up a distraction in our most trying times.

This is never more true than when it comes to memes. Whether they’re positive, negative, or in-between, they are an exact fit for all those escapist tendencies we run to when the going gets tough. They don’t offer the answer to life’s big questions, but in the long run, it doesn’t really matter.
