They say the heart of the home is the kitchen, or perhaps the television set. But I disagree. I think the heart of the home is the shower. It’s the one place where you can fully let go, alone and unfettered. I suppose you can do that in your bedroom, but where the bedroom celebrates rest, the shower celebrates rebirth. You enter dirty, uncared for, tired, and worn. You emerge fresh, clean, and reinvigorated, with a new lease on life. The shower is like a portal to a different, better dimension. Like that Rick and Morty episode where they get all the toxins sucked out of them, so then they’re left with toxic versions of themselves and clean versions of themselves. It’s a shower allegory.
