Boss Chews Out Employee For Quitting With Little Notice, Employee Leaves During Lunch Break After Agreeing to Work Two More Weeks

I understand the function of giving your employer a two-week notice. It can be difficult to replace valuable employees, and even though two weeks usually isn’t long enough to do so, it’s long enough to get a good head-start. That being said, I’m aware of the Reddit adage, «If my employer fires me, they won’t give me the luxury of a two-week notice, but they expect one from me,» and I don’t necessarily think it’s wrong. If you aren’t scared of burning bridges, then quitting with no notice or very little notice isn’t the worst thing you could do. After all, it’s called «at-will employment» for a reason.

One Redditor recently shared the story of his boss desperately begging an employee who quit to stay for two more weeks. The boss uses every rhetorical trick in the book, but in the end, the bold and brave worker named Dylan gets the last laugh.
