It’s a fun thought exercise to do every now and then- what would you do if you won the lottery? Sure, you might have long-term plans of buying houses and ending world hunger, but what would be the very first thing you’d do? Here’s mine. If it happened right now, I would walk out of work, go to that expensive vintage store I always window shop at, buy a bunch of clothes, check into a fancy hotel nearby, and make a reservation for all my friends at a nice restaurant. We’d do it all up– ordering the whole menu, drinking expensive wine, and then I’d tip 100% on the bill. That would be my first day as a billionaire.

It’s good to run that scenario every now and then because it reminds you that you can live a more toned-down version of your dreams right now. I can buy a dress and go to dinner with my friends.
