It’s not easy being a woman out in public. Dudes make comments about your body and your appearance whether you want them to or not, and let’s be honest, 99% of the time, you don’t want it. You have to have some level of vigilance every time you go out, and you begin to train yourself to avert your eyes away from all men who pass you by. It’s not ideal, but it’s what you must do to protect yourself in a misogynistic world. 

While it’s important to stay safe, you can’t work yourself up into a tizzy every time you go out in fear of something bad happening. A woman recently went viral sharing a video of her nervously pumping gas, paranoid that every car contained a potential predator. What’s worse is another woman circulated this video on Twitter, claiming it proves «pretty privilege» doesn’t exist and that ugly girls have it so much easier.
