Elon Musk Releases Twitter Source Code, Immediately Embarasses Himself

Have you noticed that your Twitter feed is dominated by tweets of Elon Musk trying to go viral? Well, now we may know why.

Elon Musk released portions of Twitter’s source code to the public earlier today. This includes the site’s tweet recommendation algorithm. That might not mean much to non-programmers, but based on the info, it kinda seems like Twitter is forcing Elon tweets onto everyone’s feeds.

In layman’s terms, Twitter breaks down Tweets into four categories: democrat, republican, power user, and, most astonishingly, Elon. Users included within those categories essentially have these tweets shoved onto their curated timelines. This suggests Twitter is hardwired to beam every single take, musing, and poor attempt at comedy Elon can muster straight into your eyes.

This isn’t really surprising to anyone, but it’s nice to have speculative proof of Elon’s desperate attempts at attention. To be fair, Elon admitted today that «it shouldn’t be there,» and «There’s a ton of stupid and embarrassing things being shown by making the code open source.» But that just begs the question, «why release it in the first place?»

And now it’s trending. Twitter users have united under the hashtag elon_is_author to inspect the code, post their findings, and, most importantly, roast Elon.
