I never understood how some people don’t have an inner monologue. I know not having an internal monologue (a voice in your head) doesn’t mean you have no thoughts and an empty head. We all process information differently, and there’s no shame in our differences. For instance, when you remember something, you might imagine it from your perspective or an outsider’s perspective. Whether you remember things first person, third person, or both, you haven’t got anything wrong with you.  

I’m so hung up on inner monologues today because I can’t stop narrating my thoughts in Ewan McGregor’s voice from Trainspotting. I watched it for the first time last night, and the effects are already taking hold; What I would give to have an accent as regional as that one. I’m glad my inner monologue is at least private because I don’t want anyone in the office to know how badly my brain is butchering the Edinburgh accent.
