Despite the fact that dogs have a reputation as overeager, outgoing people pleasers, many of them are more sensitive souls than many would like to admit. Not every canine out there takes as easily to new environments, people, and other dogs than we would like them to. Just like their owners, dogs can be introverts too — and it makes going out there and doing normal dog things all that much of a struggle.

This was something that Qila’s owner hoped to work on, by taking her pooch to a specially designed meetup for dogs that shy away from the normal butt sniffing and horseplay routine when they go to the park. In theory, it was a sweet idea to try and acclimatize pets that need a little extra help, but in practice, it wasn’t so simple. It’s not a shock that when you get a load of introverted animals together, they don’t want to interact… at all. While their human companions might have despaired, it made for a very amusing TikTok which many related to. Not everyone likes being shoved into a paddock with a load of strangers.
