It’s my firm belief that spiders are judged too harshly. The eight-legged creatures are straight-up maligned and misunderstood! While I can understand that people get the heebie-jeebies from the arachnids, can we just talk about how cool they are (when they aren’t deadly)? 

First of all, spiders kill bugs we hate. Bugs that cause disease and discomfort, like mosquitos, and bugs that are just plain gross, like cockroaches and earwigs. They are our allies, y’all. 

Spiders are also freaky. If they were humans they’d be into shibari (Japanese bondage). Those webs are magnificent restraints, but the end result is less fun than when we’re tying it in a kinky way. Those webs can also be looked at as works of art. When the giant garden spiders come out in August, our yards here in New York are adorned with gigantic, intricate webs that are deserving of our praise. There are many more cool/weird spider facts that may endear them to you (male spiders force-feed themselves to female spiders), but we’re hoping the contrast of these pro-spider and spiderphobic memes does enough of the work to convert you to the good side.
