Nobody is better at spilling harsh truths than kids. Before all the unspoken rules and social niceties of adulthood kick in, conversation is a lawless land where pretty much anything you think is liable to come out of your mouth at some point.

One of the reasons that teaching can be a hard job is that the average educator is at the mercy of this for the majority of their working day. The classroom is the ultimate environment for leaving ego at the door, as it’s a guarantee that someone is going to come along and puncture it at some point.

However, just because children have a tendency to run their mouth, doesn’t mean that you need to invite it on yourself. Nevertheless, that’s exactly what third grade teacher Alex Jean decided to do. Asking her pupils to share one thing that they would change about her, she shared their answers to TikTok.

The results were predictably brutal, and while there were some wholesome answers sprinkled in as well, viewers were impressed with her bravery in facing up to some of the shameless comments. Ultimately, it could have been worse — she could have heard these things unprompted.
