Humor is a complex and multifaceted thing. Some kinds, like slapstick, practically run up to you and scream in your face ‘THIS IS A JOKE’. Others, as with many kinds of memes, require knowledge of what is being referenced to truly understand what’s going on. Others still are the kind of thing that not everybody is going to parse at first, and that in itself creates another form of humor altogether.

It is exactly this that this list is putting the spotlight on. We have all been left embarrassed at one point or another when we have failed to see a punchline coming. The examples that we can see below are no exception, and they aren’t necessarily willing to admit that they have made a mistake, either. At least out of the many types of embarrassment, this is usually a more harmless one that it shouldn’t be difficult to see the funny side of.
