I feel sorry for my elementary school teachers. I was one of those kids who was always at a ten. Whether somebody wanted a hug or not, I would give them the tightest hug known to man. I would cry at the drop of a hat over the slightest thing. I would even stand by the teachers during recess and try to talk to them instead of playing with my classmates. The rumors are true; I was THAT kind of kid.
Luckily for me, I had a teacher who was able to meet me where I was at. My music teacher Mrs. Smith was (and is still!) a wonderful woman who always built me up. She saw this gangly and sensitive kid, and she gave her support whenever she needed it! It’s so important for weird kids to have teachers who get them, and I will always be grateful for Mrs. Smith!
