When you’re a Debbie Downer like I am, it can be hard to believe that things can get better or indeed are ever good to begin with. It’s very easy for the world to feel like a cruel and unjust place, whether against you or some of the billions of other people in the world. 

If there is one thing I have learned in my limited time on this Earth, it’s that you have to do everything in your power to convince yourself that this is a lie. This isn’t to say you go the toxic positivity route and act like nobody ever has any problems. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. The important thing is acknowledging what is difficult and celebrating all the goodness that prospers despite that with the most conviction you can muster.
