Bill Gates even said that he would rather hire a lazy person than a hardworking person to do a job because the lazy person will find an easier way to do it. Programming isn’t supposed to be so life-consuming that it makes you want to bang your head against a dart board. You’ll only enjoy yourself if you don’t take it too seriously. You are not your job, but you do have to do your job, which makes doing it as easy as possible the most utilitarian career philosophy.
