Happy post-Christmas period, Tolkien heads! For those who celebrate this season, I often feel like this next week or so is quite a Samwise Gamgee time of the year. Seriously, there is no better time for second breakfast than when the kitchen is full of two-day-old Christmas dinner leftovers and all the chocolate and cheese you were too stuffed to consume on the big day itself.

It’s also a great time to binge on all the films (extended edition, of course). While many of us have to do some work in this period, it’s also kind of a given that nobody wants to get serious about it until the new year. All the more reason to slack off with one of the finest fantasy series of all time, as well as supplement that with some memes. They’re as humorous as ever, even when you’re fighting through a particularly festive food coma.
