Twitter Users Argue Whether 23 Minutes Is A Long Time To Walk

Depending on age, mobility level, and price range, many of us have a whole host of transportation options open to us these days. In fact, all of these can be so convenient that we forget about the most important mode of transport: our own two feet.

Walking is not only the cheapest way to get somewhere close, it is one of the easiest and most important forms of exercise we can get, if we’re able to do it. At the same time, there are a scary amount of people out there who seem to be allergic to the concept.

This has been underlined by a tense Twitter thread begun by @milkandaura, where she questioned if 23 minutes was a long period of time to walk for. The innocent question prompted a lot of heated debate, both from those who were horrified at the concept of using their feet for more than five minutes and those who couldn’t think of anything worse than using the car for everything.

There are definitely a lot of factors to consider here, including culture, disability, and the walkability of different areas. Nonetheless, this thread revealed that this is an issue which takes many people to extremes. All this commotion about being a part time pedestrian is enough to make anyone want to retire to their private jet.
