If Alton Brown has a million fans, then I’m one of them. If Alton Brown has one fan, then I’m that one. If Alton Brown has no fans, that means I’m dead. The way that teens on TikTok feel about Charli D’Amelio is the way I feel about him. I stan him to the ends of the Earth. His aughts-era cooking show, Good Eats was probably my favorite program on television from ages 9 to 14. His clever camerawork, use of puppets to explain food science, and general cool-dad demeanor was catnip to a young me. 

The whole Food Network cinematic universe has continued to be a touchstone in my media diet. Chopped, Iron Chef, and of course, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives are the wholesome, cozy content everyone needs in their lives.
