Every age is a new battle. When they’re infants, it’s all about keeping them alive. When they’re toddlers, it’s all about keeping them alive. When they’re teenager, it’s all about keeping them… alive. Huh, I guess maybe it’s the same at every age. But watching a kid grow can be a trippy experience. One minute, they’re a lump of flesh that can’t talk, and the next, they’re talking about how much they love Dua Lipa’s new album. And you’ve just been adult Steve the whole time. 

But watching a kid grow is beautiful, humbling, and a lesson in character. Sure, we might change a lot on the outside, but part of us will be fundamentally the same for the rest of our lives.
