As a kid, I did not understand why bears would hibernate. They only have so much time on this planet, so why would they waste so much of it eating copious amounts of food, sleeping for hours upon hours at a time, and not hanging out with their friends? Now that I’m an adult who does not have a summer vacation to lay low during, I understand the need for a social hibernation period. You can’t go out with your friends every single weekend of the year without getting a little tired of it. When I was in college, it was nearly impossible for me to say no to a social function, but now I have to pick and choose when I’m going to show my face to this world. Not every Friday night is for raving, some of them are all about scrolling through hilarious memes in your pajamas and fuzzy socks.
