A game can be anything. It can be a bird jumping around, avoiding green pipes. It could be miniature people having families and building houses. It could be a terrifying journey to find a tall, slender monster. All that it needs to have is an objective and a main character. So in that way, life is a bit like a game. Bo Burnham captured this in his comedy special «Inside» which featured a bit where he played a live streamer playing the game of his own life, trapped in a room during quarantine. 

We’re all just running around trying to complete objectives, going on side quests, and trying to get our HP up. If only we could all do backflips and shoot bows and arrows flawlessly. I suppose those are things we could learn how to do in real life, but we all know I won’t. That’s why we have video games. And why we have video game memes.
