One of the most enduring Christmas songs of all time, «Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas» has a lyric that sticks in my craw long after the winter months are gone. It goes: «Someday soon, we all will be together if the fates allow. Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow.» It’s such a melancholic lyric about such a cheery season. It rings true, though. The holiday season for many of us may not look like a perfect postcard. Sometimes we’re separated from those we love, sometimes the heart aches for times gone by and people far away. But we’re always hoping for a brighter tomorrow, one where we’ll all be together.
