As adults, it’s not often we get to play. Our playtime is usually relegated to game night, video game sessions, and the occasional live-action role-play. When we were kids, we were playing all the time. I remember constantly doodling, coming up with characters, inventing games with my friends, and generally running amok. And it wasn’t necessarily confined to recess. My imagination would run wild during class. Walking down the hallway would be its own adventure, and I’d spend hours outside with my friends. 

I miss those long summer days spent on the sidewalk. We might have only had a couple of pieces of chalk and a scooter at our disposal, but that was more than enough to fuel hours and hours of unfettered play. I’m going to get back to that feeling somehow, some way this summer. In the meantime, though, we have this meme list that reminds you of childhood joy.
