A Kooky Bunch of Name Soundalikes That Come From the Most Unexpected Places

Names are an important thing. After what we look like, they are the first impression that we give everybody else that we meet. All it takes is one unfortunate mishearing or a pair of particularly unsympathetic parents, and we’re stuck with a moniker that we can’t shake off no matter how hard we try.

When it comes to the English language, every word is fair game for repurposing and reimagining. Sometimes, this produces marvelous phenomena that everyone can see the humor in, like dad jokes. Other times, things go in a direction that is a lot more offbeat and weird.

Name soundalikes are a great example of this more offbeat route, where the names of famous characters, people, or places can be found in pieces of text that have nothing to do with them. It’s amazing what you can see if you look hard enough, and these things can happen in the strangest of contexts.
