Budgeting is the most important part of managing our finances. It’s a shame, then, that so many of us fail at it spectacularly month after month. Many lives would be a lot easier if we could replicate the kinds of individuals who smugly save up thousands by avoiding takeout coffee, Ubers, and most fun in general. Unfortunately, though, that’s not the case for everyone.

Of course, spending money isn’t always a bad thing. However, it can sometimes get us into some sticky situations, especially when the banks get involved. This issue was brought into focus by a tweet from @drivingmemadi, who revealed how her account had been flagged with a security threat after she chose to buy a mattress at 2am. 

This led to an entertaining exposé of some Twitter user’s spending habits, and the awkward predicaments that they had been put in as a result. One thing’s for sure, money and spontaneity aren’t always two things that mix.
