One of the great paradoxes of memes is that while many are inspired by the things that happen in real life, they only really exist behind our various screens. Sure, you can go full boomer about it and print out your favorites to look at if you want, but it doesn’t give them quite the same impact. Plus, what about the ones that involve GIFs and videos? There is no easy way to merge the online side of our lives with our offline realities, but sometimes it’s fun to try and figure out if it can be done.

This seemed to be the logic behind a viral video by @rudy_willingham, who decided it would be a great idea to bring a handful of iconic memes to life (again). With some clever modifications, the creator impressed lots of viewers in his recreations of certain pictures and meme formats. That Chris Rock slap is truly inspired.
