Mom fights back after substitute teacher claims 8-year-old’s top is ‘inappropriate’: ‘Oh no, you see collarbones. Go seek help’

Almost every female student who has been through the US public school system has faced the wrath of the dreaded dress code at some point in their education. While it is important to maintain some level of propriety in the classroom, since when do spaghetti straps make it so difficult for everyone to learn? Often, kids face the most disapproval for this when in middle school and high school, but there really is no age where they’re safe from the discipline of overzealous teachers.

This has been proven in a recent viral tweet, where a mom complained of her 8-year-old daughter being told by a female substitute teacher that her top was ‘inappropriate’. Asking those on Twitter if they agreed, the majority shared in her outrage at the normal garment she was wearing being considered the wrong thing to wear at school. That meeting with the principal can’t come soon enough.
