One of the greatest and simultaneously worst things about being a Media Consumer ^TM is the ability that it has to touch a nerve. There are plenty of movies and TV shows out there that have made a name for themselves thanks to the emotional impact that they have had on much of the audience. 

However, some are meaner than others when it comes to the heart-wrenching ordeals that they are willing to put their characters through. While it can make great (if painful) viewing, there are plenty of examples out there of characters who probably didn’t deserve to deal with what they had to deal with. This has been underlined in a recent Twitter thread, where people have shared all those fictional individuals who suffered tragic fates that in their opinion were undeserved. While none of these examples may have been perfect, it doesn’t make their endings any less sad.
