Racism is something that must be taken seriously. It often goes unchecked in a myriad of institutions, and when it is acknowledged, that acknowledgment rarely fixes the root problem. Constantly dealing with racism can really hurt people, and it’s usually not what one would call «funny.»

While that is true, sometimes people must laugh about the sitcom-esque situations that racism can get them into. Racism is one of the most absurd parts of society (Love it or hate it, Blazing Saddles is an incredible satire about the absurdity of racism), and it ought to be laughed at sometimes. If you don’t laugh, you’re left with crying, and that’s so much less fun. Twitter users came together to share some racist experiences they’ve had that they can look back on and laugh. Some of these stories you’d think were straight out of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I’m sorry to say that they’re not.
