Sad Beige Mom Spray Paints Her Toddler’s Christmas Tree Toy to Make It Sad And Beige

I have some sympathy for moms with aesthetics. When you give birth to a child, you’re expected to completely give up the bliss that is choosing the exact color scheme of your life. Everything around you slowly transforms into a rainbow mess with no room for rustic evergreen tones that are far more calming and pleasing.

Every mother must ask herself how far she would go to maintain her aesthetic. Some «sad beige moms» strategically design their children’s wardrobes around muted colors and classic silhouettes. Others sand the paint off of their kid’s wooden toys so that their bright colors don’t overstimulate their color-starved babies. One mom recently went viral for doing the opposite of that: she spray-painted her daughter’s plastic Christmas tree to give it a more muted color palette. Aside from being a surefire way for her daughter to ingest paint chips, it also feels like a pointless exercise in Sad Beige Momism.
