It’s all too simple for us to place a premium on feeling good. If we can just do this thing we really need to do, or finally stop indulging in that habit that makes us feel bad, then we will finally reach that unattainable Nirvana. The fact is that happiness doesn’t work like that. It’s as fleeting as any of the major emotions, and it isn’t necessarily going to come along just because we’ve somehow granted it all the impossible conditions we set for it to thrive.
The most realistic way we can improve our moods is by acknowledging that the good times are not always predictable, and can come in unexpected packages. There are a few ways in which we can try and encourage them, though. One such way is looking at a bunch of wholesome memes. They are a perfect example of how happiness can come in small packages.
