While Twitter may be a place that occasionally splits opinion, it can’t be denied that it has been a frontrunner in goofball internet humor for as long as it has existed. It has created thousands of brand new sentences that will live on in the minds of the online-poisoned long after they get consigned to the nursing home, and it’s also spawned countless silly memes.
There’s a very good reason why most of us are well acquainted with Twitter even if we don’t happen to use it, and that’s because it is one of the most influential (and entertaining) sites in all of Web 2.0. If Elon Musk does finally manage to run it into the ground, it will be a damn shame. For all of the unhinged discourse and general stupidity it has encouraged its userbase to engage in, it’s also the GOAT when it comes to insanely funny posting.
