At what point do you respond to a pregnancy announcement with a «congratulations» instead of a concerned face? Is there an official «appropriate» age to get pregnant? If it’s someone you know well, you could probably base it on where they are in their life–for instance, if they are happily partnered up and feel stable in their life, then why not have a baby! But if it’s someone you don’t know too well, let’s say a coworker or a friend of a friend, how are you supposed to respond? Maybe we should all just agree to say «congrats» until told otherwise? It seems the struggle on responding to pregnancy announcements is a shared human trait.
