Workers Rant About the Offensive Nature of Workplace Pizza Parties

Let’s get one thing straight: no one here is hating on pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza (besides lactose intolerant people)? When workers groan and roll their eyes and send angry DMs to each other as soon as the ‘pizza party’ invite appears in their inboxes, the rage has nothing to do with the pizza itself. It’s about what the pizza represents. Imagine if instead of paying rent, you handed a pizza to your landlord with a little note that said «just a little token of my appreciation for the housing!» As hilarious as that would be, your ass would be evicted faster than you could spell ‘pizza.’ So why are employers allowed to patronize us like this in lieu of an adequate salary?
